LISTEN: Town Talk/The Fredericksburg City Cemetery

Florence Barnick and Jeanette Cadwallender talk about 180 years of the Fredericksburg City Cemetery on Washington Avenue. The cemetery is often mistaken for its neighbor, the Confederate Cemetery, though it has its own rich history — and even includes some Confederate soldiers among its burials. Plots are still available for purchase, and the grounds now feature a Memorial Garden where ashes are placed directly into the earth. You can learn more at fredericksburgcitycemetery.org.
